Disneyland Paris with Young Children —
Transport Tips and Tricks
Updated January 2025 · 9 min read
Disneyland Paris with a baby or toddler is a very different experience from going with older children. The good news: it's absolutely wonderful. The key is getting the logistics right — especially transport.
Before you leave: what to pack
- 🧸 Your child's comfort toy — familiar smell helps in unfamiliar places
- 🍼 Enough formula/snacks for the journey plus 4 hours
- 👕 2 full changes of clothes in your carry-on (not the hold luggage)
- 🧻 Wipes — far more than you think you need
- 🌞 Sun cream and a sunhat, even in spring
- 🩹 Small first aid kit — plasters for small feet doing a lot of walking
- 📱 Downloaded entertainment for the transfer journey
The stroller question
Bring your stroller. Disneyland Paris is large — for children under 4, a stroller is essential. For children 4–7, it becomes a nap-station and a luggage carrier.
Strollers are generally allowed inside the parks. Dedicated stroller parking areas exist near most attractions.
The critical transport consideration: your stroller needs to fit in your transfer vehicle. RER trains have very limited space for folded strollers. A private Mercedes van fits your stroller (unfolded or folded) in the boot easily.
Baby seats in France — the law
French law requires children under 10 years old (or under 135cm) to be secured in an approved child restraint in all passenger vehicles. This includes taxis, private hire vehicles, and rental cars.
Standard taxis are not required to carry baby seats. Uber and other apps rarely have them available.
Solution: Book a private transfer service that specifically offers baby seats and confirm your child's age and weight at the time of booking. Reputable services include this at no extra charge.
Timing your arrival
With young children, the worst thing you can do is arrive exhausted. A stressed, tired toddler at park opening is a recipe for meltdowns before you've even seen Mickey.
If you're flying in on the day of your park visit, book an early flight, land by mid-morning, and take a direct private transfer so you can be at the park by noon — with the kids fed, rested in the van, and excited.
If your flight lands in the evening, don't go to the park that day. Book a hotel near the park and start fresh the next morning.
The transfer: why private van wins for young families
With a baby or toddler:
- ✅ You can have the baby seat fitted before you arrive
- ✅ You don't need to fold the stroller to get through barriers
- ✅ The van is climate-controlled — important for very young children
- ✅ No crowded carriages where you're worried about germs
- ✅ If the baby falls asleep in the car seat, they stay asleep
We've had families tell us their baby slept the entire 45-minute journey — and arrived at Disneyland refreshed and ready. That's worth more than the price difference between a van and a train ticket.
